Week 7- AA Roller coaster at the Top

Well there is some great parody in AA at the moment with 3 different teams exchanging positions over the last three weeks. This week Langley Christian is positioned in first spot for the moment. This should create some great drama and great matches as everyone is gearing up for the play-offs.

AAA:

This week Claremont has switched spots with Oak Bay to make it into the top 3 of AAA. However, Nov 6th will be interesting as it’s the City Championships and Oak Bay could potentially meet up with Claremont again (barring an upset along the way). They have split with each other in league. Should be fun to see who comes out on top.

Abby Christian comes out of nowhere to win Christian Schools Tournament defeating MEI, Langley Christian and Vernon Christian in the process. This has some impact on the AA rankings.

At the TRU tournament, Oak Bay didn’t lose until the final, defeating #4 Mt. Boucherie, #3 Claremont, and AA#3 George Elliott before falling to Kelowna in the final.
Okanagan Mission also broke through with wins over Mt. Boucherie (who was missing their starting setter), AA#4 College Heights in the quarter-finals, a loss to Kelowna in the semi-final, and a close loss to George Elliott for Bronze.
Mt. Sentinel (single A) beat College Heights for 5th-tie, and Claremont beat Duchess Park for 5th-tie.

Vernon Christian won the very strong “Best of the West” Tournament at Kelowna Secondary. To finish first in this tournament meant to finish above both the top AAA and AA schools in the province. Vernon Christian, the first Single A team to win the tournament, soundly defeated top AA school MEI in the final to capture the title. See more info on this tournament here.

Not many tournaments over the long weekend, so only a few changes.  Next week will have a big tournament in Kelowna, so there will be some good inter-zone comparisons.
