Seaton sweeps, moves up

W.L. Seaton played like a pool pacesetter Wednesday in AA at the Langley Events Centre.
The Sonics swept by their three opponents without losing a set, winning Pool C and climbing to a No. 8 seed for Thursday’s championship bracket competition.
“The boys are very calm and controlled,” Seaton coach Fane Triggs said after his team had won their second match.
Triggs said setter Avery Triggs, his son, and 6-3 Sam Eddy were influential on Wednesday. “Sam and Avery connected pretty well in the middle.”
McRoberts finished second in the pool, DP Todd third and Lambrick Park fourth.
College Heights moved up by going 3-0 in Pool B and earning a fourth seed for Thursday. The Cougars were followed by Langley Findamental (2-1 in the pool), George Elliot (1-2) and Pacific Christian (0-3).
Sa-Hali beat Woodlands and Prince Charles to take the lead in Pool D, and MEI took the lead in Pool A by defeating Pacific Academy in three sets for its second straight win.
In AAA, Dover took Pool E by going 3-0, with the other pool teams finishing at 1-2. Moscrop won the tiebreaker by sets won / lost among the three tied teams. Mount Boucherie was third and top-ranked Kelowna fourth, the Owls sliding to a fifth seed for Thursday.
Oak Bay (3-0) beat Fraser Heights in two sets to clinch Pool F and climb to a No. 4 seed. Fraser Heights was second at 2-1, with Van Tech third (1-2) and Walnut Grove (0-3) fourth.
David Thompson went 2-0 to take the lead in Pool G, and Delta and Reynolds both started 2-0 in Pool H. Riverside (2-0) had the lead in Pool K after two matches.
